Sign a PDF without printing it or uploading it
Add your signature to a PDF in your browser. Draw it, type it, or upload an image of it. Signing your own copy happens on your device; send it to someone else only when you choose to.
Add a signature to a PDF
Draw with a mouse, finger or stylus, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload an image, then place it on the page.
Initials, dates and fields
Place initials, dates and text beside the signature.
Send for signature
Send a document to others to sign. This is one of the features that stores the document on PDFLoom's server while the request is open, as the Trust page explains.
Digital signatures that other software recognises
Besides the visible signature, PDFLoom can add a cryptographic digital signature with a signing key created on your device. Acrobat and signature-checking tools then report the document as signed, and any later change shows as a broken signature. Because the certificate is self-issued, Acrobat shows "signed, identity not verified".
Check the legal fit
Whether an electronic signature is valid depends on your document and where it's used. PDFLoom does not give legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
How do I sign a PDF online for free?
Open the PDF in PDFLoom, choose Sign, create your signature, and click where it should go. Then save.
Do I have to upload my PDF to sign it?
Not to sign it yourself. The file stays on your device. Only a send-for-signature request stores a document on a server.
Can several people sign one PDF?
Yes. Send a signature request and each signer gets their own link to their fields.
Will Acrobat or an API see my PDF as signed?
Add the digital signature as the last step. A painted signature image on its own is invisible to signature-detection tools, but a digital signature is a recognised signature field with a valid cryptographic signature.
